Raindrop Technique
"The doctor of the future will give no medicine but
will interest patients in the care of the human frame,
in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease."
Thomas Alva Edison
Raindrop Technique, a form of aromatherapy utilizing a sequence of
Young Living therapeutic-grade essential oils, is a procedure for applying essential oils to the feet, back, and spine. It is based on the theory that many types of spinal misalignments and other disorders are caused by viruses or bacteria that lie dormant along the spine. Because most viruses, fungi, and bacteria cannot live in the presence of many essential oils, especially those high in phenols, carvacrol, thymol, and terpenes, these oils are utilized. During the past ten years Raindrop Technique has become a widely used therapeutic protocol to ameliorate cases of viral infection, kyphosis, scoliosis, chronic fatigue syndrome, and many other conditions and to provide a method of detoxificaiton.
Raindrop Technique was developed in the 1980’s by a naturopathic physician, Gary Young, after exhaustive research and while working with a Lakota medicine man, Wallace Black Elk; thus, in addition to using essential oils, Raindrop Technique incorporates certain Native American techniques, including “feather stroking.” Raindrop Technique also includes an ancient Tibetan healing method called Vitaflex, a therapeutic maneuver similar to Oriental acupuncture, acupressure, and reflexology. Stanley Burroughs brought the technique to the West in the 1920's after studying Oriental Medicine. Vitaflex involves the gentle pressing and rolling of the Raindrop facilitator’s fingertips upon the receiver’s body surface at specific meridians, or reflex points, utilizing the fact that the skin is piezoelectric (when slight pressure is applied to the body surface, a voltage is generated, and electric charges move accordingly, which are believed to be of therapeutic value).
In a study of 11,256 respondents, conducted by David Steward, PhD, RA, 99.9% of receivers said they would receive Raindrop again. Respondents reported their experiences to be Positive (97%), Pleasant (98%), Resulted in healing (16%), Felt better afterwards (98%), Improved health (89%), and Improved emotional state (86%). Dr. Stewart has devoted himself to training professionals in Raindrop Technique after receiving a Raindrop treatment that healed him of 43 years of chronic back pain. Dr. Wilson received her Center for Aromatherapy Research and Education (CARE) training in this technique from Dr. David Stewart who was trained by Dr. Gary Young.
